Green tea, allowed to evolve.

Rather than preserving freshness, the leaves are fermented through a controlled process using kurokōji, a black mold traditionally used in Japanese fermentation. The structure of the leaf is transformed -  softened entirely, its character fundamentally reshaped. 

The result is a smooth and rounded profile, distinctly earthy with a grounded, subtle sweetness.

This unique tea was at risk of disappearing. By partnering with the only remaining producer in Japan, Afterglow continues its lineage.
